Labour's economic credibility was further damaged today after new figures revealed Britain's economy remains mired in recession.
Given that the CBI came out yesterday predicting the UK would exit from recession this month it was a nailed on certainty that they'd be wrong. When you factor in the £1 trillion used to prop up the banking system you begin to get some idea as to how catastrophic the economic situation would be/may become.
The economy is shrinking despite fantasy forecasts from dumbledorf Darling, yellow streak Brown and golden Balls!
Yellow streak Brown has shown many times over the last couple of years how massively out of touch he is with the nation. How he can stand up and announce that another party would be worse for the economy than his, displays the delusional nature of the man. This is the man who "abolished boom and bust": time will tell - he inherited a boom and created the bust. There is no sign of a fresh boom yet.
Quite a long time ago, in1997 to be exact, a political party told an electorate "Things Can Only get Better".
Enough of the electorate were persuaded by the slogan to vote-in the political party and lo .............. Britain had New Labour as its Governing party.
Now New Labour hadn't got any new or better policies, what they had was a new political philosophy.
They had realised that if they had the Media and particularly the BBC onside, they could actually distort facts, lie and even spin outright disasters into success stories and it all worked out so well that for 12 long years they presided over a country which was losing its industry, its scientific research base, its educational excellence and even its national identity.
The problem was, the longer New Labour remained in power, the more difficult it became to keep the lid on the Media pot because there were still quite a lot of people with integrity in the profession and they were starting to understand that New Labour's success story was not what it seemed.
However it has taken a Global Recession to reveal that the New Labour has conned everyone, particularly the Media, it has been all smoke and mirrors, the Government has simply borrowed and borrowed, more and more money to cover up its ineptitude during its 12 long years.
So now, Salome yellow streak Brown's last veil has been ripped off and although his cronies twist and turn trying to hide his body from the electors all is revealed.
Hmm, as I suspected, he's simply not the man he claimed to be.
Compare and contrast, given this little lot, I can't see how anyone else could be a bigger danger to the economy than yellow streak Brown and the Liebore party.
In 1979 the Manufacturing Output of the UK was £84.5bn, it then dropped substantially and by 1982 was £72.4bn. However, by the time Mrs Thatcher left office it had not only recovered to pre-recession level but actually grew to £93.3bn - an increase versus 1979 of 10%.
In the time whilst John Major was PM despite a set back in the early 1990's when he left office, manufacturing had grown still further to reach £97.9bn. Thus in 18 years of Tory government, manufacturing output increased by a total of 15.8%. Whilst over 18 years this is fairly modest growth, it is a direct contradiction of the oft-asserted claim that the Tories destroyed British industry and built a service economy to replace it.
Now let's look at the picture since 1997.
Tony Bliar inherited a manufacturing sector producing £97.9bn of GDP. When he left office in 2007 this had reached £102.2bn, an increase of 4.4%. However, since then the economy has gone into significant recession and the manufacturing GDP figure for 2009 will be circa £89bn.
Thus compared to the 18 years of Tory government that grew the manufacturing base of the UK by almost 16%, the Liebore government in its 13 years of office has reduced manufacturing output 9%.
All PMs have stretched the truth, but yellow streak Brown must surely go down as the biggest liar in political history.
