More spin from the kamikaze leader

In memory of TractorStats

Yesterday our kamikaze leader with his cronie kamikaze james purnell made a statement claiming that there are more than 500,000 jobs on offer. On the same day figures showed the number of people unemployed is at a 12-year high, that's according to the office of National Statistics. They also revealed that the number of foreign workers increased by 175,000 to 2.4 million last year while the number of British workers fell by 234,000 to 27 million.

Our kamikaze leader has publicised his efforts to expand the number of posts offered at Jobcentres. He invited yesterday executives from Sainsbury's, Royal Mail, Whitbread, Centrica, National Express,Travelodge, Tesco, Asda and Pontins to Downing Street. These companies, as well as NHS and local authority leaders, will agree to advertise all non-specialist vacancies through Jobcentres and to increase the availability of apprenticeships. Please notice that there is not one manufacturing company there apart from Whitbreads all the rest provide services!

Unfortunately yet again all we are getting from this kamikaze leader is a series of announcements on employment that are more spin than substance, and are just designed to cover up the fact that kamikaze Gordon Brown's recession policies are not working.
With thousands of people being made unemployed each week, help is needed now for the unemployed and hard-pressed employers. Instead, all we get from this kamikaze leader is more hollow promises. This kamikaze government has failed to invest in further education colleges, failed to set up a proper national loan guarantee scheme and failed to set up job clubs, There are fewer real apprenticeships, less people attending FE colleges and more young people out of work now than in 1995.
