To say this crisis couldn't have been foreseen is absolute rubbish: the signs were there, even as far back as 1997 as I can personally attest, when I applied for a mortgage and was encouraged even then to self certify my earnings.

The Tories have accused Labour of spin in claiming the creation of 2,500 jobs when only 500 would be directly related to manufacturing, although a further 1,300 posts will be created by maintaining the trains once in service after 2013.
