In a 90-minute grilling carried simultaneously on three TV channels last night, Mr Sarkozy promised not to repeat Britain’s economic "mistakes" and said that the kamikaze Prime Minister’s flagship VAT cut had "absolutely not worked".
Is there really anyone in Britain who DIDN'T think it was a brainless idea from an economically vacuous government? As with many of their policies over the past 11 years, the tax-payer/ future pensioner will end up poorer for the government short term policies. Next time they will increase the tax on pension dividends you will see.
It seems to me that between Sarkozy and Clarkson we at last have a cogent critique of the shambolic ediface currently posing as the UK government.
Then in Australia in Clarksons words:-"In the UK we‘ve got this one-eyed Scottish idiot, who keeps telling us everything‘s fine and he‘s saved the world and we know he‘s lying, but he‘s smooth at telling us". The only word that Clarkson missed out was kamikaze.
